IN THE NAME

Mark 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Obviously, baptism is very important, but does it matter how we are baptized? Is there a correct baptism, or will anything work? If you believe the Bible, then YES, there is a correct baptism.
Most churches baptize in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, but this is not correct according to the Bible.
In Acts 19, there were certain people who already believed on Jesus Christ, but had not yet received the Holy Ghost into their hearts. The apostle Paul knew the correct way to receive the Holy Ghost, so he asked them, “Unto what then were ye baptized?” And they said, “Unto John’s baptism.” (Acts 19:3) Paul saw that they were not baptized according to Peter’s commandment in Acts 2:38, so he instructed them to be re-baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Then, as promised, they received the Holy Ghost.
So, why did the disciples baptize in the Name of Jesus when Jesus, Himself, told them to baptize in the Name (not “names”) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost? (Matt 28:19) Did they make a mistake? No! They did exactly as they were instructed.
As you read this article, think about your name. Are you a son? Is your name, “Son”? Are you a mother? Is your name, “Mother”? Of course not, those are simply titles. You have a real name, and so does God.
Here is the answer:
And there is no such a thing in the Bible as anybody ever being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost; because there is no such a thing. Father’s no name; and Son’s no name; and Holy Ghost is no name; but the Name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is God! He is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
If you are seeking the Holy Ghost and wondering why the Lord has not given it to you yet, then you might want to ask yourself the same question that Paul asked, “Unto what then were ye baptized?”

THE SUPERNATURAL.

John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Mark 16:17-18
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
All of us can turn the pages of the Bible and see that God performs miracles: Moses parted the Red Sea, Elijah called a famine, Jesus walked on the water, and the disciples healed the sick.
There are thousands of miraculous events recorded in the Bible. If God bears witness with signs and wonders, then where are His miracles today? Can He heal cancer like He healed leprosy in the Bible? What about AIDS or malaria? Can He still perform a miracle? Yes, God still performs miracles and these signs follow them that believe.
Now, look friends, think of King George of England, when he was healed with multiple sclerosis, when we had prayer for him. Think of Florence Nightingale, (her grandmother, the founder of the Red Cross), was about sixty pounds of weight, laid dying yonder with a cancer on the duodenal of the stomach, laying there dying. A little dove flew into the bush there and the Spirit of God come and said, “THUS SAITH THE LORD, she shall live.” And she weighs a hundred and fifty-five pounds in perfect health.
Think of Congressman Upshaw setting bound in chairs and bed for year after year, for sixty-six years. And right in a moment’s time raised to his feet, run through the building, touched his toes, was perfectly made normal and well.
Just think of the thousands and thousands of people that’s been healed. Why set we here until we die? Let’s do something about it.
Have faith if you are sick or in need. The Bible says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever, so if He was able to perform a miracle two-thousand years ago, then He is able to do the same today. He promised us that we are healed, if we would only believe.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

LIFE AFTER.

John 5:28-29
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
There is coming a day when each of us, whether Christian or otherwise, will find out exactly what is beyond the curtain of time. The Bible promises Eternal Life to some, and to others, it promises damnation. Every human being throughout history has surely asked himself, “What will happen to me when I die?”
Long before there was ever a Bible to read, the prophet Job watched nature. He talked about the hope of a tree, how it would be cut down and die, yet through the scent of water, it springs back to life and puts out fresh buds. Job knew that a man, like the tree, would again rise to life:
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? (Job 14:14-16)
Job may not have had a Bible to read, but he knew that God would one day resurrect him from the grave when the Redeemer of mankind came forth.
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!
That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:
And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: (Job 19:23-26)
The prophet was speaking of the Lord Jesus and the resurrection of His people. By revelation Job knew that though our bodies might completely wither away, Jesus will restore our flesh. And with our own eyes, we will see His Coming. All of God’s people long to see that glorious day.
However, just as sure as God exists, there is also a devil; and just as sure as there is Heaven, there is also hell. The stakes are higher than we can imagine. The Apostle Paul said that, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (I Cor. 2:9)
Our minds cannot comprehend how great Heaven will be, and neither can they comprehend the horrors of hell. Jesus told us that hell is so bad that it would be better if we cut off a member of our body than risk going to that horrible place.
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: (Mark 9:43)
So who will go to Heaven? And who will go to hell? It’s a sad thought, but Jesus said that most people will not receive the reward that He is willing to give: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt 7:13-14)
Jesus also said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matt 7:21-23)
Just because a person claims Christianity does not mean that he is saved. So, this is the obvious question in our minds: How do I receive Eternal Life? Jesus gave us a very simple answer: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24)
Unfortunately, there are so few people in the world today who are willing to take time from their busy days to hear the Word of God. And there are even fewer who will believe the Word once they have heard it.
The churches tell us to be a good person, think positively, don’t lie, cheat, or steal, and we will go to Heaven. They don’t understand that hell will be full of people that seem to live good lives. The reality is that we won’t go to Heaven because of our righteous deeds or because we are a member of a certain church. There is only one path to Eternal Life, and that is through Jesus Christ. He instructed us that we must BELIEVE His Word, which is the Bible. Otherwise, how could we be saved?
When the day of judgment comes for you, will you hear, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world,” (Matt 25:34) or will you hear, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”? (Matt 25:41)
As your eyes read across these words, you have a choice to make: Will you choose to believe God’s Word?
Where will you spend eternity?

Serpent seed

The Serpent's Seed
1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Genesis 3:1-20
One of the most attacked parts of Brother Branham’s Message is, without a doubt, the serpent seed doctrine. After reading Genesis 3:1-20, here are a few obvious questions for the skeptics:
How can a snake talk?
Why did Adam and Eve know they were naked when they ate the fruit?
How can eating just one type of fruit increase our mental capacity to the point that we understand that certain parts of the human body should be covered?
Where is this fruit today? Is it extinct?
These questions are a bit ridiculous, but so is the concept of magic fruit. The Bible is full of types, and this is one of the most obvious. Here are a few things that you may not have known about Genesis 3 and the serpent seed.
A few notable Bible verses
Genesis 4:3 - And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. (speaking of plantlife.)
Exodus 21:22 - If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her… (speaking of bearing a child)
Deuteronomy 7:13 - And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land…
Deuteronomy 30:9 - And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land… (three very different types of fruit)
Judges 9:11 - But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees? (This is not a talking tree, it is a type just like the tree in the Garden is a type.)
Webster’s definitions of Fruit:
A product of plant growth
The usually edible reproductive body of a seed plant
Offspring
The effect or consequence of an action or operation
Did you know that there are two similar words in Spanish for fruit? Fruto is the generic definition for fruit and is used for the fruit of your labors, as well as the fruit of the womb. Fruta is the actual fruit that we eat. The Spanish (RV) translation of the Bible uses fruto in reference to Genesis 3.
The serpent seed is even more obvious.
It’s clear that the serpent was NOT a snake. In fact, what animal on the planet can talk and carry on an intelligent conversation?
Genesis 3:15 says that the serpent has a seed? What is a seed? Here are a few popular translations of the Bible that might make things a little more clear.
King James Version (KJV): And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed…
New International Version (NIV): And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers…
New Living Translation (NLV) And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring…
Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB): And I will put eivah (enmity) between thee and HaIsha (you and the woman), and between thy zera and her Zera (seed)…
Modern English Version (MEV): I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring…
Now that we know the serpent had offspring, where did that offspring go? Here are a few questions.
Why is the first-born Cain never in the lineage of Adam?
Genesis 4 and 5
Chapter 4: Gives Cain’s offspring. Adam is not mentioned as his father.
Chronicles 1:1: Adam, Sheth, Enosh
Luke 3: Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.
Who was Cain’s father?
1 John 3:12: Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother.
Why is Adam not the father of all living?
Immediately after the initial sin of eating the fruit, God instructs the woman on childbearing. Then Adam names his wife “Eve because she was the mother of all living.” This is BEFORE Cain and Abel are born. Knowing this, it’s obvious that Eve had conceived before the conversation with God.
